In 2012, Manoj Ghorpade, a four year old boy was stuck in a bore well pit in a village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra, The positive response and quick action of a team of policemen, along with the local residents ensured that no valuable time was lost in the rescue operation. Pressing all the available machinery into action, they dug another pit parallel to the bore well and brought him out safe. He was stuck at a depth of around twenty four feet, where his voice was still audible to people who tried to rescue him. Barring a few bruises, the boy was fine. Later, a medical team examined him and declared him fit and fine.
