Sri. K. Jayakumar – IAS, VC, Malayalam University and Former Chief Secretary, Kerala.
Sri. K. Jayakumar – IAS, VC, Malayalam University and Former Chief Secretary, Kerala. 'The foremost aim of project VITAL initiated by Anandashram is, to awaken the need to bring in the Value dimension in the process of education. I consider this to be the most important need of the hour for teachers, because it is the teachers who play a significant role in molding the students properly. The suggestion placed by VITAL on the above lines will definitely be instrumental in setting a new tone in the field of teachers training.'close -

Sri. P. Gopinathan Nair – Veteran Gandhian, Chairman -Gandhi Smarak Nidhi, Kerala 'Education has to be based on Values. It should be possible to integrate Values with day-to- day teaching. Values and academics must not be separated. In other words, while teaching any subject, care should be taken to see that the Value dimension is properly integrated. This is what is proposed by the VITAL movement, initiated by Anandashram. Academics integrated with Values will prove to be meaningful and an effective methodology.'close -

Dr. Khader Mangad – Vice-Chancellor, Kannur University 'In order that the younger generation imbibes Constitutional Values right from the impressionable age, the curriculum for teacher trainees undergoing course in B ed College gives thrust for the same by setting apart certain hours during the course. In line with the above, VITAL is trying to provide the needed inputs for motivating the prospective teachers to integrate value dimension with the text portion in the form of examples drawn from daily life.'close -

Prof. Vishnu Narayanan Nambudiri – Renowned Educationist and Poet, Kerala. 'The program proposed by VITAL is an initiative to literally make the system of education and society more vibrant. For this educationists and teachers should coalesce the living Values with teaching. Values should not be separated from education. Values are not to be taught in class alone. In fact Values are imbibed by the younger generation from various segments of society including farmers, soldiers or administrators, anyone leading a Value based life.'close -

Smt. K. Sugatha Kumari – Leading Poet, Educationist and Social Activist, Kerala. 'Teachers, parents and those occupying high positions in society should be role models who can show the do’s and don’ts to our younger generation. If focus is made only on academics we will be producing only people who are self-centred and insensitive towards the demands and suffering of the society, and this is what is happening now. VITAL initiated by Anandashram is a welcome sign.'close -
Prof. M. A. Khader – Former Curriculum Head NCERT, New Delhi
Prof. M. A. Khader – Former Curriculum Head NCERT, New Delhi 'Through VITAL, Anandashram is trying to reach out to the school sector – to children, teachers and teacher educators. It shows how concepts in each subject can be integrated with Values so they can practice and see in real life how Values function. What is significant in this effort is that they have chosen a path where content for science, math, language and social studies are integrated with the related Values. The creative aspect here is not merely the integration of content and Values, rather one may find an activity in the subject area implying that one finds content, plus its integration with Values. This is a departure from the past. The path VITAL has chosen, in my view is interesting because it is easy for the teacher to follow and the children to understand. The integration provides for development of Values in a more meaningful form. I think we need to support Anandashram’s effort.'close -

Rev Father Mathew Chalil, Senior Educationist and Head, Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Chemperi, Kannur Dist. 'Anandashram has introduced a new method, VITAL, to give Value education to the students. Doubtless, Value education should be an integral part of education. VITAL is a system where Value teachings are given together with lessons taught in the classes. I appreciate the system very much and hope the education community, government and the public will extend full support.'close -

Dr. B. H Helen Joy, Principal, Govt. College of Teacher Education, Calicut 'This program conducted by the VITAL resource persons is a unique one. It focused on: what are values and what is the link between teaching and learning. Each one of our students has understood the significance of this whole exercise. Recently, academicians have been increasingly emphasizing value education. They strongly feel this is the only hope to revive future generation from further down fall. Surely, it is a good sign that some of the teachers are also positive about the possibilities of teaching and learning based on values. We can certainly say that VITAL team has succeeded 100% in this endeavor because they are going to complete their training programs in all the 4 government training colleges successfully. These 4 colleges’ principles represent 4 universities in Kerala and they are leading a group of teachers who design the curriculum for the B.Ed courses. We assure VITAL that we will strongly recommend to the authorities for such training programs wherever possible.'close -
